Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women's tennis team placed all six players on the American Southwest Conference All-West Division teams released today. Sophomore Megan Aarhus was also voted the ASC West Division Player of the Year. The Cru women had a doubles team and one singles player voted to the All-Conference Team, put two singles player and a doubles team on the All-West Division First Team, had three singles players and two doubles teams voted Second Team All-West Division and had one Honorable Mention All-West Division singles player.
Megan Aarhus, a sophomore from Georgetown High School, was voted ASC West Division Player of the Year. Aarhus posted a 15-2 record at #1 singles and teamed with her twin sister, Mallory, to go 18-0 at #1 doubles. Megan Aarhus earned First Team All-West Division honors at #1 singles and teamed with Mallory for All-Conference honors at #1 doubles. The duo was also voted First Team All-West at #1 doubles.
Mallory Aarhus, a sophomore from Georgetown High School, joined her twin sister on the All-Conference Team at #1 doubles and she also earned All-Conference honors at #2 singles. Mallory posted a 15-2 mark at #2 singles and also recorded that perfect 18-0 record at #1 doubles.
Rebecca Everett, a junior from Breckenridge High School, earned Second Team All-West Division honors at #3 singles and also teamed with Lauren Knight for Second Team All-West Division honors at #2 doubles. Everett went 13-4 in singles play this spring and paired with Knight for a 12-6 doubles mark.
Amber Long, a senior from Copperas Cove High School, earned Second Team All-West Division honors at #4 singles and teamed with Carrie Ramos to earn Second Team All-West honors at #3 doubles. Long was 9-5 in singles player and combined with Ramos for an 11-6 doubles record.
Lauren Knight, a freshman from Belton High School, earned Second Team All-West Division recognition at #5 singles and also teamed with Everett for Second Team honors at #2 doubles. Knight posted an 11-6 mark in singles and also compiled that 11-6 mark in doubles with Everett.
Carrie Ramos, a freshman from Temple High School, earned Honorable Mention All-West Division honors at #6 singles in addition to her Second Team doubles honor. Ramos went 5-8 in singles play this spring.
The Cru women went 12-6 overall and finished 5-1 in ASC West Division play this spring. The UMHB women advanced to the semifinals of the ASC Championship Tournament before falling to eventual conference champion U.T.-Tyler for the third straight year.
