Fredricksburg, VA – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor tennis players Mallory and Megan Aarhus will open play in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual National Championships tomorrow afternoon. And with the release of the tournament bracket today, the Cru's #1 doubles team finally knows its opponent in tomorrow's first round match.
Mallory and Megan will face off against Kenyon College's Prita Kidder and Amy Schlessman in a first round match at 2:00 PM Central Time tomorrow. The winner of that match will then advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday to face the winner of tomorrow's match between Julie Browne and Meghan McCooey of Tufts University and Lauren Caire and Ellen Yeatman of Washington & Lee College. The semifinals and finals will be played on Sunday with all of the action taking place at he Battleground Tennis Complex.
The Aarhus sisters enter Friday's match with a 25-2 overall record this year. The duo will be the first UMHB tennis players, men or women, to play in an NCAA Division III National Championships. Kidder and Schlessman have a 15-3 mark on the year. Defending national champions Kendra Higgens and Chrissy Hu of Chicago are also back in this year's field.
