Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s tennis doubles team of Megan and Mallory Aarhus has been selected to the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Individual Championships. The Aarhus sisters become the first UMHB tennis players, men or women, to claim a berth in an NCAA postseason event.
           
                 Megan and Mallory Aarhus are both sophomores from Georgetown High School and the duo makes up one of the 16 doubles teams selected to participate in the NCAA Division III National Championships. The Aarhus twins posted a 25-2 overall record at #1 doubles for the Cru women this season and the pair combined to go 18-0 in doubles play this spring. The Aarhus sisters will find out their opponent when the draw for the individual tournament is released on May 27th. Megan and Mallory Aarhus are the only players from the American Southwest Conference selected to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis National Championships. Kendra Higgens and Chrissy Hu of the University of Chicago are defending Division III National Championships and the duo once again made the field of 16 this season.

        The NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Individual National Championships will be held May 28-30 at the Battleground Tennis Complex in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The University of Mary Washington will be the host of the tournament. Thomas Orr
Men's Basketball
Thomas hit a pair of clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Cru a 75-73 victory over Hardin-Simmons last week. He averaged 13.0 points per game and added a season-high 15 points to keep UMHB in the game in a narrow 75-71 loss to McMurry University.
Miranda Shorter
Women's Basketball
Miranda averaged 9.5 points per game over two contests last weekend. She is one of just three seniors on this year's team. Miranda has started 16 of the Cru's 17 games and she currently ranks third on the team in scoring.
