Women's basketball assistant coach moves to administration
Stanton spent seven years with Cru women's basketball program
Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball assistant coach Hollie Stanton is leaving the Cru athletic department to become the school’s Associate Director of Admissions and Recruiting. She starts her new role with the University on March 22nd.
Stanton spent seven seasons as an assistant coach for the Cru women’s basketball program before making the move to administration. During her tenure with UMHB women’s basketball, the Cru advanced to the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament five times and UMHB won the first ASC West Division title in the program’s history this past season. Stanton also helped recruit 28 ASC All-Conference selections during her time with the basketball program. Stanton also made coaching stops at Texas Tech University, Southwest Texas State University, Incarnate Word University and Hondo High School before joining UMHB.

Stanton is completing work on her Doctorate Degree in Education Administration at UMHB. She will complete course work in the spring of 2010.

“I am thrilled for Hollie to have the opportunity to work in the area she has been preparing for in her graduate studies,” Cru Vice-President for Athletics Ben Shipp said. “We wish her the best in her new career.”

“The opportunities I’ve had and the things I have learned in athletics have helped prepare me for this move,” Stanton said. “I am so thankful for the opportunities and the support I’ve had from athletics and the people in the athletic department.”

The search for Stanton’s replacement will begin immediately.
