Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball team has been awarded the 2009-2010 American Southwest Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Team Sportsmanship Award. The UMHB women shared the ASC West Division honor with Sul Ross State University while the University of the Ozarks women’s team took ASC East Division honors.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s and women’s basketball teams combined to place six players on the American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference Team. The Cru men and women had three players apiece named to the Academic honor squad.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball team placed seven players on the American Southwest Conference All-West Division Teams and All-Conference Team released today. The Cru women also had the ASC West Division Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in Jessica Kelly and Kim Kirkpatrick-Thornton respectively.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball team was left out of the 64-team field for the NCAA Division III National Championships when the bracket was announced this morning. The Cru women were hoping for one of the 21 at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament, but the South Region received just one of those Pool C bids to the tournament.

Pineville, LA – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball team battled back from an eight-point second-half deficit, but the Cru missed a potential game-tying shot in the final seconds in a 49-47 loss to McMurry University in an American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Semifinal game Saturday in Pineville, Louisiana. The Cru finishes the regular season with a 21-6 overall record following the loss. McMurry improves to 18-9 on the season with the victory.

Bo Baker
Men's Soccer
Bo scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Cru's 2-1 season opening victory over Trinity University. UMHB's win snapped the Tigers 52-match regular season home winning streak. He then scored the Cru's only goal in a 2-1 loss at Southwestern University.
Tina Miller
Women's Volleyball
Christina had 23 kills over four matches this past weekend at the U.T.-Tyler Tournament. She led the Cru in kills in three of those matches, including a three-set victory over Jarvis Christian that gave UMHB its first victory of the season.
