Takes conference honors for first time
Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball player Lindsay Eaton has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending January 31st. Eaton, a junior forward from Lake Travis High School, earns conference honors for the first time this season. She averaged 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in leading UMHB to a pair of crucial ASC West Division victories last week in Abilene, Eaton opened the week with a 24-point performance in a 73-62 win at McMurry University. She followed with 14 points and seven rebounds as the Cru topped Hardin-Simmons 68-60 for UMHB’s first victory over the Cowgirls in Abilene. Eaton shot 52 per cent from the field for the week and also blocked a shot as she helped the UMHB women stretch their winning streak to 11 consecutive victories.
            The UMHB women are currently 15-4 overall and 12-3 in ASC play and have a one-game lead in the ASC West Division. The Cru will host McMurry University for a 5:30 PM tip-off on Thursday before closing out the week with a 1:00 PM home game against Hardin-Simmons.

Thomas hit a pair of clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Cru a 75-73 victory over Hardin-Simmons last week. He averaged 13.0 points per game and added a season-high 15 points to keep UMHB in the game in a narrow 75-71 loss to McMurry University.
Miranda Shorter
Women's Basketball
Miranda averaged 9.5 points per game over two contests last weekend. She is one of just three seniors on this year's team. Miranda has started 16 of the Cru's 17 games and she currently ranks third on the team in scoring.
