Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer player Daniel Green has been voted to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) All-West Region Team. Green, a First Team All-West Region selection, is the only American Southwest Conference player named to the West Region First Team.
Green, a senior defender from Abilene High School, was the leading defender for the Cru this season. He led a defense that posted 12 shutouts and allowed just 11 regular season goals on the year. Green also scored a pair of goals for the Cru and finished with four total points on the season. He helped lead the UMHB men to the first NCAA Division III National Championships berth in the history of the program.
The Cru finished the 2009 season with a 14-4-1 overall record and went 11-2 in ASC play to claim the first ASC regular season championship in the program's history. UMHB advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in the program's history before falling to Hardin-Simmons University 2-0 in a First Round match.
