Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team took a little while to get the offense going, but the Cru posted a pair of second half goals to take a 2-0 victory over Southwestern University in the 2010 season opener Friday in Belton. UMHB is now 1-0 to start the season. The loss drops the Pirates to 1-1 on the year.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team will open the 2010 season Friday afternoon looking to defend the first regular season American Southwest Conference Championship in the program’s history. The Cru is also coming off the first NCAA Division III National Championships appearance in the program’s history and will start the road back by hosting the ASC-SCAC Challenge this weekend at the Cru Sports Plex.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team has been picked to finish second in the American Southwest Conference in the league’s annual Preseason Coaches Poll. The Cru totaled 349 points in balloting of the league’s coaches and sports information directors and picked up nine first-place votes.

Belton, TX – The 2010 edition of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team opened defense of its American Southwest Conference regular season championship when the team reported to campus today. Head coach Brad Bankhead welcomed a group of 31 student-athletes to campus today. That group includes 18 returners from last season’s ASC regular season champion.

The Cru qualified more teams for American Southwest Conference Championship Tournaments than any other ASC school. UMHB also tied the school single-year record for teams advancing to the NCAA Division III National Championships.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer team will host a Spring Break camp for boys and girls ages 12 and under. The UMHB men will also hold a free one-day soccer camp as a community service project. Both of the camps will be led by UMHB men’s soccer coach Brad Bankhead and a staff of Cru soccer players and all of the sessions will be held at the Cru Soccer Complex on the UMHB campus.

Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s soccer player Daniel Green has been voted to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) All-West Region Team. Green, a First Team All-West Region selection, is the only American Southwest Conference player named to the West Region First Team.
