Men's soccer places five on Academic All-Conference Team

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's soccer team placed five players on the American Southwest Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team released today. To be eligible for the ASC Academic All-Conference Teams, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior, earn a letter and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
            Daniel Green is a senior defender and chemistry major from Abilene High School. Mark Miller is a junior goalkeeper and Christian Studies major from Wichita Falls Rider High School. Austin Teague is a junior defender and marketing major from Cypress Christian High School. Adam Cecil is a sophomore goalkeeper and biology major from Rockwall High School. Trevor Shoppach is a sophomore midfielder and accounting major from Cedar Park High School.

            Green, Miller and Teague are all two-time Academic All-Conference selections. This is the first Academic All-Conference honor for Cecil and Shoppach.

            The Cru finished the 2009 season with a 14-4-1 overall record and went 11-2 in ASC play. The UMHB men won the ASC regular season title for the first time in school history and also advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in the history of the program.
