Football offensive line named ASC Players of the Week
The Cru
Cleared the way for three 100-yard rushers last Saturday
Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team’s starting offensive line has earned American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for its performance in the Cru’s 48-16 victory over Sul Ross State Saturday in Belton. OT’s Max Taylor (Jr., Lufkin HS) and Nate Menkin (So., Lago Vista HS), OG’s Myke Gobert (Sr., Cy-Ridge HS) and Ryan Krause (Jr., Medina Valley HS) and OC Dustin Davis (Jr., Harker Heights HS) cleared the way for a UMHB offense that rolled up 480 rushing yards and 632 yards of total offense in the win over the Lobos. The Cru had three rushers go over 100 yards in the game and UMHB rushed for six touchdowns. The UMHB offensive line didn’t allow a sack in 20 passing attempts.
            The Cru closed out the regular season with a 9-1 overall and went 7-1 in ASC play. UMHB shares this season’s ASC title with Mississippi College to give UMHB at least a share of five straight ASC championships and seven of the last eight. The Cru will also advance to the NCAA Division III National Championship for the sixth straight year and the eighth time in the last nine seasons. UMHB will travel to Pella, Iowa for a first round game against Central (IA) College (10-0, 8-0 IIAC) in a 12:00 PM kickoff on Saturday.

Thomas Orr
Men's Basketball
Thomas hit a pair of clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Cru a 75-73 victory over Hardin-Simmons last week. He averaged 13.0 points per game and added a season-high 15 points to keep UMHB in the game in a narrow 75-71 loss to McMurry University.
Miranda Shorter
Women's Basketball
Miranda averaged 9.5 points per game over two contests last weekend. She is one of just three seniors on this year's team. Miranda has started 16 of the Cru's 17 games and she currently ranks third on the team in scoring.
