Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team returns to American Southwest Conference play this weekend as the Cru plays host to East Texas Baptist University Saturday for a 1:00 PM kickoff at Tiger Field. UMHB will enter the game with a 6-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark in ASC play. The Cru is also in a must-win situation to keep its hopes alive for an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships. The Tigers will come into Saturday’s game with a 2-6 overall record and a 2-4 mark in the ASC. UMHB leads the all-time series against ETBU 8-1, but the memory of that one loss, in 2003, still lingers for the Cru.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will find itself in an unfamiliar spot this Saturday. For the first time since the middle of the 2005 season, the Cru is looking to bounce back from a loss to an American Southwest Conference program following last week’s 17-14 loss at Mississippi College. The loss dropped UMHB to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in ASC play and puts the Cru in a situation where every game becomes a must win if the team hopes to make a return trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships. UMHB will look to get back on the winning track in the last non-conference game of the season as NAIA Southern Oregon (2-5) comes to Tiger Field for a 1:00 PM kickoff. The Raiders handed the Cru their only regular season loss last season with a 40-28 victory in the initial meeting between the two teams. So there should be plenty of motivation when the Cru hits the field this weekend.
