Belton, TX—The 2010 season officially kicked off for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team when the Cru hit the practice field for the first time Sunday evening. A group of 184 players went through a crisp workout that lasted almost two hours. The full-team practice gave 108 newcomers a chance to see exactly what Cru football is about with 76 returners leading the way through the first practice.

Belton, TX—The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football program officially kicked off the 13th season of Cru football by welcoming 190 players to campus as the 2010 edition of the Cru football team reported to campus Saturday morning. The Cru welcomed back 76 returners and 114 newcomers. Five more players are expected to report on the first day of class, August 23rd.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will begin defense of its 2009 American Southwest Conference co-championship when an expected class of nearly 200 players reports to campus this weekend. Student-athletes will report on Saturday, August 14th with newcomers checking in at McLane Hall from 7:30-11:00 AM. The first practice of the 2010 fall camp will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, August 15th. The team will then move to a morning practice beginning at8:45 AM on Monday, August 16th. The first workout in full pads will be Thursday, August 19th at 8:45 AM. All of those practices will be held at the UMHB football practice fields at the Cru Sports Plex.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team is ranked sixth in the country in the D3football.com Top 25 Preseason Poll. The Cru totaled 488 points in balloting of coaches, sports information directors and media members from across the country in that poll. This marks the third preseason poll to rank UMHB #6 in the nation this season.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team has been picked to successfully defend its American Southwest Conference Championship in the league’s 2010 Preseason Coaches and Media Poll. The Cru picked up 21 of the 27 first-place votes and totaled 237 points in balloting of the ASC head coaches, sports information directors and selected media members to earn Preseason favorite honors for the eighth straight season.

Bo Baker
Men's Soccer
Bo scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Cru's 2-1 season opening victory over Trinity University. UMHB's win snapped the Tigers 52-match regular season home winning streak. He then scored the Cru's only goal in a 2-1 loss at Southwestern University.
Tina Miller
Women's Volleyball
Christina had 23 kills over four matches this past weekend at the U.T.-Tyler Tournament. She led the Cru in kills in three of those matches, including a three-set victory over Jarvis Christian that gave UMHB its first victory of the season.
