Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team put on full pads for the first time in the 2010 fall camp Thursday morning. The Cru went through a spirited, two-hour practice punctuated by hard-hitting inside drills to close the workout. The first day of full contact also gave the coaches a chance to evaluate all of the players together and start to make some decisions about who will make the varsity team this season.

The game will now kickoff at 11:00 AM instead of the originally scheduled time of 1:00 PM.

Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada – Former University of Mary Hardin-Baylor standout Jerrell Freeman has been named the Canadian Football League’s Gibson’s Finest Defensive Player of the Week for the past week. Freeman, a second-year linebacker for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, had three quarterback sacks and three tackles in the Riders 37-13 victory over the British Columbia Lions.

Belton, TX—The 2010 season officially kicked off for the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team when the Cru hit the practice field for the first time Sunday evening. A group of 184 players went through a crisp workout that lasted almost two hours. The full-team practice gave 108 newcomers a chance to see exactly what Cru football is about with 76 returners leading the way through the first practice.

Belton, TX—The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football program officially kicked off the 13th season of Cru football by welcoming 190 players to campus as the 2010 edition of the Cru football team reported to campus Saturday morning. The Cru welcomed back 76 returners and 114 newcomers. Five more players are expected to report on the first day of class, August 23rd.
