Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team will find itself in an unfamiliar spot this Saturday. For the first time since the middle of the 2005 season, the Cru is looking to bounce back from a loss to an American Southwest Conference program following last week’s 17-14 loss at Mississippi College. The loss dropped UMHB to 5-1 overall and 4-1 in ASC play and puts the Cru in a situation where every game becomes a must win if the team hopes to make a return trip to the NCAA Division III National Championships. UMHB will look to get back on the winning track in the last non-conference game of the season as NAIA Southern Oregon (2-5) comes to Tiger Field for a 1:00 PM kickoff. The Raiders handed the Cru their only regular season loss last season with a 40-28 victory in the initial meeting between the two teams. So there should be plenty of motivation when the Cru hits the field this weekend.
“Its very important for us to play well to play physical and to get some of our confidence back,” Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. “SOU represents a much bigger challenge than their record might indicate. They are big and physical and we know that we are going to have to be ready to play. We need to win the rest of our ballgames and that has to be our focus. That starts this weekend against Southern Oregon.”

The UMHB athletic department will once again provide live video streaming, a live audio stream and live stats from Saturday’s football game. You can access all of those links through the UMHB athletic department web site at www.cruathletics.com.
