Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team watched a double-digit second-half lead slip away, before closing strong as the Cru posted a 76-67 victory over Schreiner University Saturday afternoon in Belton. The UMHB men improve to 12-5 overall and 10-3 in American Southwest Conference play as the Cru wins its sixth straight game. UMHB also maintains sole possession of first place in the ASC West Division with the victory. The loss drops the Mountaineers to 3-14 overall and 3-10 in the ASC on the season.

Seguin, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team built a big second-half lead and then held on for dear life as the Cru held off Texas Lutheran’s furious rally for a 69-65 victory over the Bulldogs Thursday night in Seguin. The UMHB men improve to 11-5 overall and 9-3 in American Southwest Conference play with their fifth straight win. The Cru also maintained sole possession of first place in the ASC West Division with the victory. The loss snaps TLU’s three-game winning streak and drops the Bulldogs to 5-11 overall and 3-9 in the ASC on the season.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team took control of the game early in the first half and the Cru never looked back on the way to a 104-86 victory over Howard Payne University Saturday in Belton. The UMHB men improve to 10-5 overall and 8-3 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The victory was also win #200 for Cru head coach Ken DeWeese at UMHB. He becomes the first coach in UMHB basketball history to post 200 career victories at the school. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 2-13 overall and 2-9 in the ASC on the season.

The UMHB men improve to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The loss drops the Lobos to 5-9 overall and 4-6 in the ASC on the year.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team missed one potential game-winning shot, but Ervin Johnson buried two clutch free throws with 1.6 seconds left to provide the difference as the Cru edged Concordia Texas 79-78 Monday night in Belton. The UMHB improve to 8-5 overall and 6-3 in American Southwest Conference play and claim a sweep of the season series with the Tornados with the victory. The loss drops Concordia to 6-7 overall and 5-4 in the ASC on the season.

Athletes of the Week
Lindsay Eaton
Women's Basketball
Lindsay is this week's ASC West Division Player of the Week after averaging 19 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game last week in giving the UMHB women their first-ever two-game sweep on the Abilene road trip. She poured in 24 points in a victory at McMurry to open the week and followed with a 14-point, 7-rebound performance as the Cru women topped Hardin-Simmons. She has helped lead the UMHB women to an 11-game winning streak.
Zane Johnston
Men's Basketball
Zane averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as he helped lead the UMHB men to a sweep on the Abilene road trip. Johnston hit 55 per cent of his shots from three-point range and also added six assists and four steals. Zane has started more games and played more minutes than any other member of the Cru this season and he has helped lead the UMHB men to an eight-game winning streak and first place in the ASC West Division.
