Women's Golf places three on Academic All-Conference Team
All three seniors make squad

Belton, TX—The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s golf team placed three players on the 2010 American Southwest Conference Academic All-Conference Women’s Golf Team. To be eligible for the Academic All-Conference team, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior with at least a 3.00 GPA. The player also has to play in more than 50 per cent of the team's contests that season.
            Mallory McAdams is a graduate student from Robinson High School and is completing work on her Master’s Degree in education. Courtney Nelson is a senior education major from Aledo High School. Christi Williams is a senior sport management major from Snyder High School. McAdams also earned Academic All-Conference honors in basketball this year and Williams also earned Academic All-Conference honors as an assistant in the UMHB Sports Information Office this spring.
            This is the fifth overall Academic All-Conference honors for McAdams, including her basketball honors. Williams has earned a combined six Academic All-Conference honors between golf and her duties as an assistant in the UMHB Sports Information Office. Nelson is a two-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
            The Cru women finished third at the ASC Championship Tournament this spring. Williams, McAdams and Nelson were the top three finishers for the Cru women in that tournament.

Athletes of the Week
Miranda Shorter
Women's Basketball
Miranda averaged 9.5 points per game over two contests last weekend. She is one of just three seniors on this year's team. Miranda has started 16 of the Cru's 17 games and she currently ranks third on the team in scoring.
Thomas Orr
Men's Basketball
Thomas hit a pair of clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Cru a 75-73 victory over Hardin-Simmons last week. He averaged 13.0 points per game and added a season-high 15 points to keep UMHB in the game in a narrow 75-71 loss to McMurry University.
