Belton, TX. -- The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men's tennis team has been awarded the 2009-2010 American Southwest Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Team Sportsmanship Award. The UMHB men shared the ASC West Division honor with Sul Ross State University while LeTourneau University took ASC East Division honors.

The award, in its third academic year, honors the member institution in each ASC championship sport that best displays positive qualities of sportsmanship and fair play from its student-athletes, coaches and fans throughout the season. The Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAACs) from the conference's 15 member institutions vote on the recipients.

The UMHB men win the ASC SAAC Sportsmanship Award for the first time and become the fourth UMHB athletic program to claim that award this year. The Cru men also joined the UMHB men's soccer, volleyball and women's basketball teams as Sportsmanship Award winners this school year.

The Cru men finished the 2009-2010 season with a 9-6 overall record. The UMHB men finished 4-2 in ASC West Division play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the ASC Championship Tournament before falling to LeTourneau University.
