Women's soccer places four on Academic All-Conference Team
Arredondo becomes three-time selection
Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s soccer team placed four players on the American Southwest Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team released today. To be eligible for the ASC Academic All-Conference Team, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior, earn a letter and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
            Mickie Arredondo is a senior midfielder and Cellular Biology major from Bryan High School. Kellee Shearer is a junior defender and marketing major from A&M Consolidated High School. Erica Harris is a sophomore goalkeeper and nursing major from Rockwall High School. Lindsay Hunt is a senior midfielder and art major from Lahainluna High School in Lahaina, Hawaii.

            This is the third appearance on the ASC Academic Honor squad for Arredondo. Shearer is a two-time Academic All-Conference selection. This is the first Academic All-ASC pick appearance for Harris and Hunt.

         The UMHB women finished the 2009 season with a 12-6 overall record and a 10-3 mark in ASC play. The Lady Cru set school records for victories and conference wins in a season. The UMHB women also won an ASC Championship Tournament match for the first time in the history of the program

Thomas Orr
Men's Basketball
Thomas hit a pair of clutch free throws with 2.1 seconds left in overtime to give the Cru a 75-73 victory over Hardin-Simmons last week. He averaged 13.0 points per game and added a season-high 15 points to keep UMHB in the game in a narrow 75-71 loss to McMurry University.
Miranda Shorter
Women's Basketball
Miranda averaged 9.5 points per game over two contests last weekend. She is one of just three seniors on this year's team. Miranda has started 16 of the Cru's 17 games and she currently ranks third on the team in scoring.
