Fredericksburg, VA – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor tennis players Mallory and Megan Aarhus made history when they stepped on the court for an NCAA Division III Individual National Championships First Round Match on Friday. But the sisters bid to extend their stay in the national tournament through the weekend came to an end with a gritty, three-set loss to Kenyon College. To be eligible for the ASC Academic All-Conference Team, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior and have attended the school for a full year. Tyler, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s tennis team could not capitalize on a win at #1 doubles and the Cru women fell to U.T.-Tyler 5-1 in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Semifinals Saturday in Tyler. The UMHB women end the season with a 12-6 record and the Cru falls to U.T.-Tyler in the ASC semis for the third straight year. U.T.-Tyler, ranked 28th in the nation, improves to 15-3 on the season with the victory. Ennis, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s tennis team swept through the doubles matches and then grabbed two quick singles victories to post a 5-0 win over U.T.-Dallas in an American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament Quarterfinal match Friday in Ennis. The UMHB women improve to 12-5 on the spring with the victory. The Cru will now advance to tomorrow’s semifinals to take on tournament host U.T.-Tyler (14-3) in an 11:00 AM match. The winner of tomorrow’s semifinal will advance to Sunday’s Championship match with an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships on the line.
