Seth Lynn - one of two Cru players to advance to World Series
Katy Collegians go 1-2 at World Series
Wichita, KS – Two University of Mary Hardin-Baylor baseball players advanced to the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series last weekend in Wichita, Kansas. Seth Lynn and Ryan Moreau both qualified for the World Series as members of the Katy Collegians summer league team, one of just 30 teams from across the nation to advance to the NBC World Series.
Lynn is first baseman from Katy Taylor High School and he will be a sophomore for the Cru next season. Moreau is a catcher from Baytown Christian High School and he will be a senior for the Cru next year. The two players helped lead the Collegians to the NBC Southeast Regional Championship and Katy earned an automatic bid to the NBC World Series with that Regional Championship.

The Collegians opened the NBC World Series with a 5-3 victory over Playball Sports from Colorado. Katy was then eliminated with back-to-back losses. The Collegians fell to the El Dorado Broncos from Kansas 9-6 and dropped a 6-4 decision to the Clarinda (Iowa) A’s in an elimination game to end the tournament with a 1-2 record.

Lynn started one World Series game for the Collegians and also pitched in two games. Moreau started two games for Katy in the World Series. The two players combined for a pair of hits and two RBI in the series.

Lynn and Moreau will both return to play for the Cru baseball team this year. The two players were both starters for the UMHB baseball team last spring and helped lead the Cru to a 22-17 overall record and a third straight berth in the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament.
