UMHB grabbed a 1-0 lead when Trevor Shoppach headed home an assist from Andrew Carrasco at the 19:04 mark. The defenses took over in the second half as the two goalkeepers faced 19 combined shots without allowing a goal.

Mark Miller finished with six saves in goal for UMHB to post his 10th shutout of the season. Matt Johnson posted four saves in goal for Schreiner University. The Cru outshot Schreiner 15-14, but the Mountaineers put six of those shots on goal compared to five shots on goal for UMHB.

The Cru will now face Hardin-Simmons University in the Championship Match tomorrow at 1:00 PM. The winner of that match will receive the ASC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championships. UMHB edged the Cowboys 1-0 in the regular season meeting between the two team’s two weeks ago in Belton.
