Football places 11 on Academic All-Conference Team

Daniels and Munn are three-time honorees
Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team placed 11 players on the American Southwest Conference Fall Academic All-Conference Team, released today. To be eligible for the ASC Academic All-Conference Team, a player must be a sophomore, junior or senior, earn a letter and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative GPA.
            Quincy Daniels is a junior running back and management major from Belton High School. Blake Dempsey is a sophomore fullback and management major from Dallas Christian High School. Brady Engelmohr is a sophomore tight end and cell biology major from Ganado High School. Blake Heller is a sophomore offensive lineman and computer science major from Salado High School. Jerrad Jefferson is a sophomore linebacker and communications major from Waller High School. Kristen Leverett is a senior linebacker and management major from Lampasas High School. Brett McGee is a junior tight end and history major from Robinson High School. Lee Munn is a senior defensive back and exercise and sport science major from Omaha Paul Pewitt High School. Kyle Noack is a junior quarterback and accounting major from Cuero High School. David Wassermann is a junior tight end and exercise and sport science major from Gatesville High School. Bobby Whan is a junior fullback and management major from Aledo High School.

            This is the third Academic All-Conference selection for Daniels and Munn. This is the second Academic All-Conference selection for McGee and Whan. The other players are making their first appearance on the ASC’s Academic honor squad.

            The Cru finished the 2009 season with a 10-2 overall record and UMHB was ASC Co-Champion after posting a 7-1 league record. The Cru advanced to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III National Championships for the sixth consecutive season before falling to Linfield College 53-21 last Saturday.

Bo Baker
Men's Soccer
Bo scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the Cru's 2-1 season opening victory over Trinity University. UMHB's win snapped the Tigers 52-match regular season home winning streak. He then scored the Cru's only goal in a 2-1 loss at Southwestern University.
Tina Miller
Women's Volleyball
Christina had 23 kills over four matches this past weekend at the U.T.-Tyler Tournament. She led the Cru in kills in three of those matches, including a three-set victory over Jarvis Christian that gave UMHB its first victory of the season.
