Holds steady in one poll and climbs one spot in the other
Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football climbed on spot as the Cru moved up to #12 in the country in this week’s American Football Coaches Association’s Top 25 Poll. The Cru totaled 550 points to move up from #13 after beating NAIA Southern Oregon 21-0 last Saturday. Defending national champion Mount Union held on to the top spot with 39 first-place votes and 997 total points. Wisconsin-Whitewater remains at #2 this week with the other first-place vote and 961 total points. Mississippi College moved up from #20 to #17 in the country this week with 346 total points to give the American Southwest Conference two teams in the top 20 in the country this week.
The Cru held on to the #8 spot in this week’s D3football.com Top 25 Poll. UMHB received votes totaling 416 points in that poll this week.

“When adversity hits, you can really tell a lot about the character and resiliency of a football team,” Cru head coach Pete Fredenburg said. “We really responded to a major challenge this past week and that’s something we will need to continue to do for the rest of this season.”

UMHB is 6-1 overall and 4-1 in ASC play following last Saturday’s victory over SOU. The Cru will now return to ASC play and will host East Texas Baptist University (2-6, 2-4 ASC) for a 1:00 PM kickoff this Saturday at Tiger Field.
