Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor head baseball coach Micah Wells has submitted his resignation, effective August 2nd. Wells will be taking a teaching position in order to spend more time with his family. Cru assistant baseball coach Derek Dunaway has been named interim head coach and will guide the UMHB baseball program through the 2011 season.

The players have been recognized on Preseason All-American teams released by Lindy’s Magazine, Sporting News Magazine, D3football.com and Consensus Draft Services.

Belton, TX – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Max Taylor has been named one of 112 nominees for the American Football Coaches Association’s Good Works Team. The final, 22-player team will be announced in September. There will be two, 11-player teams selected. One team made up of NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision football players and a second team made up of NCAA Division I Championship Subdivision, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA football players.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ----- The NCAA Division III Management Council at its meeting on Monday (July 19) approved the request by Centenary College (La.) for reclassification to Division III. The four-year reclassifying member program for Centenary will officially begin September 1, 2010.

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor has hired long-time Temple College softball coach Larry Hennig to become the new head coach of the Cru softball program effective August 2nd, UMHB Vice-President for Athletics Ben Shipp announced today. Hennig will replace Kasey Blomquist at UMHB after Blomquist resigned to spend more time with her family.
